Olive Oil Conference at The Governor’s Olive Mill 

The first scientific information event at our premises was held and completed yesterday with a great success!

The event was honored by the presence of the Mayor of Corfu Kostas Nikolouzos, the Regional Governor of primary sector of the Ionian Islands Mr. Giannis Fontanas, the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Corfu Spyridon Spais and Elena Karoubi, the Ionian University with Mr. Avlonitis, Mr. Vlachosand Mrs. Karydi, representatives and entities of tourism, catering and mainly of primary sector. Producers from almost every part of the island, as well as simple consumers / friends of the Corfiot olive oil who appreciate its value and are eager to learn more about this natural treasure.

Attenders had the opportunity to attend ARISTOIL program for the first time in Corfu, as well as a high level seminar regarding the pharmacological properties of olive oil, its proper production practices and use, while Ionian University presented to us with the innovative “Olive Fly – Observer”.

It was a real honour to us to host in our mill the Professors-researchers Prokopios Magiatis and Eleni Melliou, the project coordinator Dr. Krimnianiotis, while the welcoming greeting was addressed for the first time in Corfu by the director of the Institute of Olive Oil in USA UC DAVIS OLIVE CENTER California Prof. Dan Flynn.

The heart of olive oil beats in the mills!
This is our place of work, inspiration and creation. Here it is where we have changed EVERYTHING and here it is where we are going to change our point of view towards this natural product with a series of conferences and seminars, which will take place at regular intervals. Yesterday’s event was not the end but the beginning of another great idea!
